The spy photographers have just caught the 2019 Audi Q3 crossover testing somewhere in Germany wearing a disguise. This forces us to assume the arrival of the crossover is imminent.
Reports suggest the new 2019 Audi Q3 will ride on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, which is also underpinning the VW Tiguan. The shift from the previous PQ35 architecture to the MQB platform will improve the overall weight of the Q3 as well as increase the wheelbase’s length.
We can expect the 2019 Audi Q3 to carry the same powertrain as the VW Tiguan, which is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. A more powerful turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder unit with 400 PS will also be available. The plug-in hybrid and electric models might also join the lineup later.
Talking about the design, the 2019 Q3 will boast a bold front fascia with a wider grille, sleeker headlights, and a low hood design. The camouflage hides the details on the prototype, but we can still spot the tail-gate mounted spoiler, a sloping roof, and the rakish rear window. The wheel design may also change in the production model. Regarding the interior, we do not know anything yet.
Expect the 2019 Audi Q3 to be showcased sometime during next year.
