Hennessey Ships First Venom F5, Displays A Silver Finish Unit

The wait is finally over as Hennessey has finally produced and shipped the first Venom F5 to a buyer in the US. It took the tuner-turned-automaker a long time to create this speed beast. The concept was unveiled four years ago while the road-going prototype was shown in December last year. The hypercar comes with a starting price of at least $2.1 million.

Hennessey really wants to make its creation super exclusive, that’s why they plan to create only 24 units of the Venom F5. Apart from having a few million dollars in your bank balance, you should also be brave enough to drive this hypercar because it does not have airbags. It is the reason the F5 can only be registered in America as a show and display car. Therefore, owners have to bear driving limitations – they cannot drive beyond 2500 (4,023 kilometres) every year.

Even with the restrictions on driving, the Texas-based automaker has sold all 24 units. The company has also vowed to cross the 300 miles per hour mark and hit a magical number i.e. 500 km/h (311 mph). At the start of this year, the company detuned its twin-turbo 6.6L V8 for aerodynamic authentication trial. With 900 horsepower (671 kilowatts) under its hood, it was able to hit 200 mph. That’s only half the power the F5 can generate – it can actually produce 1,817 hp (1,355 kW).

Undoubtedly, Hennessey will have to go after the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ and Koenigsegg Agera RS to announce its supremacy in the speed world. Before we could witness that the automaker has something new in store for us. It is the new Venom F5 unit that the company will showcase in December at the Petersen Museum’s hypercar exhibit in Los Angeles. This particular F5 sports Lausanne Silver paint with patriotic red, white, and blue accents.

The Venom F5 is not the machine every driver can drive. After all, it has an enormous 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 pound-feet (1,617 Newton-meters) of torque that go to the rear wheels. The automaker says the hypercar can hit 100 km/h (62mph) in only 2.6 seconds, 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 4.7 seconds, 0 to 186 mph (300 km/h) in 8.4 seconds, and 0 to 248 mph (400 km/h) in 15.5 seconds.

Hennessey said they will make some vital statements on social media soon. We are eagerly waiting for that because one of them would be beating the top speed record. On the other side, SSC North America is also gearing up to cross the 300 mph barrier after the hullabaloo on its first attempt.
