The Mercedes EQE showed its face to the world at the Munich Auto Show in September 2021. While its launch isn’t imminent in the State and elsewhere, we are already seeing the zero-emission sedan on the roads close to Los Angeles, California. The video shared by KindelAuto here shows the car cruising silently.
As we can see in the video, the prototype sports Michigan manufacturer plates, which is according to other Merc models here in the United States. It shows the German automaker is already working to bring the all-electric sedan for sale soon.
Seeing the Mercedes EQE without a camouflage didn’t astonish us because the car has already made its global debut. Moreover, its styling isn’t all-unique and resembles the EQS. The EQE sticker and the punch line “This is for all senses” is visible at the side of the car. Since it is the EQE 350 model, it doesn’t have sporty AMG-Line equipment.
Comparing it to its bigger flagship sibling, the EQE is a tad shorter than the EQS, both in total length and wheelbase owing to its association with the ICE E-Class and S-Class.
The new EQE 350 will come equipped with a 90.6-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a 215-kilowatt electric motor fixed at back creating 288 horsepower (215 kilowatts) and 391 pound-feet (530 newton-meters). The electric sedan will be capable of delivering 410 miles (660 kilometres) between charges. The automaker confirms these figures on the European WLTP cycle.
In the US, the EQE will hopefully come with the same power figures. However, the range numbers could be different.
At first, Mercedes revealed plans to launch it in the US in the second half of next year. However, as the prototype looks ready for production, we can expect it to come a little earlier than what was previously proposed.
