On 1st December 2016, Fiat Chrysler announced the start of the production of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, which will be the first minivan in the automobile industry with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The production will take place at the company’s plant in Windsor.

The powertrain of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is similar to standard gasoline powered Pacifica, except that the hybrid variant also carries a 16 kWh battery pack. The battery pack takes two hours to fully charge and will offer a range of 566 miles.

According to EPA, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica’s annual running cost will be around $900.

Talking about the interior, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid features an 8.4-inch touch screen infotainment system, but doesn’t include the signature “Stow n Go” seating due to the battery pack located under the second-row seating.

The exterior styling is almost similar to the standard Pacifica with horizontal pattern front grille and an attractive wheel design.

The standard 2017 Pacifica hybrid will start at $43,090 (including $1,095 freight, excluding federal tax credit).
