The Environmental Protection Agency has revealed the fuel economy figures of the 2020 Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid and they look very impressive. The crossover returns 2.35 L/100Km (100 MPGe), which is 6 MPGe more than its competitor, Toyota RAV4 Prime.

However, the RAV4 prime does better in the electric range. The Toyota’s crossover can travel 67.6 km on the electric power alone against the Escape’s 59.5 km, which comes from the 14.4-kWh battery pack. However, these Ford’s numbers are still better than the Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid that comes with a 42 km electric range.

Talking about the price, the 2020 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid starts at $33,040 (excluding incentives) making it $5,000 less costly than the RAV4 Prime. However, the Prime beats the Escape in terms of power, churning out 302 horsepower, which is 81 hp extra than the Escape. Moreover, the RAV4 Prime is an AWD while its competitor only offers the Forward Wheel Drive.

The two other trims available for Escape Plug-In Hybrid cost $35,620 for SEL and $38,835 for the Titanium Plug-In Hybrid.
