Dodge has facelifted the Durango and in the process added the Hellcat engine to the lineup to make it the world’s most powerful SUV. Yes, you heard it right, the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat can create an enormous 710 horsepower (529 kilowatts) and 875 newton-meters of torque. The deliveries may start in the first quarter of next year.
Although these Hellcat performance figures are a little less than the Challenger and the Charger Hellcats, the brawny SUV will still be able to beat the BMW X5 M Competition, Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S, and Porsche Cayenne Turbo by a good margin.
The engine mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. With this powertrain, the Hellcat can hit the 96 km/h mark in only 3.5 seconds and top out at 290 km/h. Another surprising fact is its hauling capacity. It can tow 8,700-pound, which is even more than the 2021 Cadillac Escalade.
The 2021 Dodge Durango will hit the roads this fall with a price tag little higher than the outgoing model, which starts at AED 149,900 and goes as high as AED 235,000 for the SRT.
The pricing details for the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat are unknown; however, be ready for a big premium over the SRT model.
