Nissan has unveiled a facelifted version of the Terra SUV in the Middle East, which they first launched in 2018. Named 2021 Nissan X-Terra, do not mix it with Xterra we have here in the UAE because it is not based on the F-Alpha platform rather it is based on the Nissan Navara platform.

The three-row SUV receives updated LED headlights and taillights as well as a revised grille. Inside, it gets a new nine-inch infotainment system and more chic HVAC controls. The SUV features an 11-inch flip-down screen with HDMI input to make journeys fun. The second- and third-row passengers can enjoy the air conditioning through vents in the ceiling. The front and middle row occupants would have “Zero Gravity” seats. Moreover, the utility vehicle offers a 60/40 split-folding second row and a 50/50 split third-row seats.

The 2021 Nissan X-Terra will give the Middle Eastern customers only one engine choice. It carries a four-cylinder 2.5L gasoline engine generating 165 horsepower and 241 Newton-meters (178 pound-feet) of torque. The engine mates to a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Surely, it looks underpowered for a big three-row SUV, but this is offset by its off-roading credentials. The 4WD versions come equipped with an electronic locking rear differential and a brake limited-slip differential, in addition to Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist systems.

To make the journeys safe, the new X-Terra offers Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which consists of Intelligent Rearview Mirror, Around View Monitor, and Driver Assist Technologies. The latter includes Intelligent Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and Intelligent Auto Headlights. The advanced safety features comprise six airbags, zone body construction, braking assistance, ABS, tire pressure monitoring system, vehicle dynamic control, and child seat compatibility.

It starts at AED 99,900 in the UAE and is available in three trim levels. The salient features of the base SE include 17” alloy wheels, 7” advance driver assist display, cruise control, and intelligent key with engine push starter.

The mid-level Titanium starts from AED 108,800 and comes equipped with an 8” touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, LED front fog lights, remote engine start, and chrome mirrors with auto-folding.

The AED 133,800 range-topping Titanium features standard 18” machine cut alloy wheels, 9” touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and NAVI functionality, Nissan Intelligent Mobility Tech, and power-adjusted leather seats.

There are plenty of accessories customers can add to both the exterior and the interior of the 2021 Nissan X-Terra. The exterior amenities include Blind Spot Warning, welcome light, door visor, and exhaust pipe finisher. For the interior, Nissan has made available trunk net, rear-seat entertainment system encompassing 10.1” Touch Screen, Multimedia Support USB, SD Card, and HDMI, Duel Screen Feature, Wireless headphones, and FM Transmitter; LED seatbelt indicators, air purifier, and hygiene kit, which includes 10 face masks (3PLY), 8 pairs of PVC gloves and 2 hand sanitizer sprays.

Whether the 2021 Nissan X-Terra will hit the US roads are not is still unclear. However, in the Middle East, it has hit the dealerships.
