2021 Porsche Panamera Debuts With New Turbo S Trim

The 2021 Porsche Panamera has made its official debut along with a new Turbo S variant replacing the previous Turbo. The new Turbo S carries a twin-turbo 4.0L V8 generating 620 horsepower and 820 Newton-meters of torque, which is 70 hp and 50 Nm of torque extra than the old Turbo.

Thanks to the added power, the Turbo S can hit the 96 km/h mark in just 2.9 seconds, which is half a second faster than the model it is replacing. The Executive variant, however, is a little slower due it lengthy wheelbase. It takes three seconds to reach the same speed. All the models in the 2021 Porsche Panamera lineup max out at 315 km/h.

Turbo S

The automaker has also unveiled the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid, which is powered by a twin-turbo 2.9L V6 assisted by an electric motor for a combined output of 552 hp and 750 Nm of torque. On launch control, it can accelerate to 96 km/h in three and a half seconds on its way to a top speed of 298 km/h. The hybrid range is approximately 54 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. with EPA numbers not available yet.

For the entry-level Panamera, the automaker is replacing the single-turbo 3.0L with a twin-turbo 2.9L producing 325 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

4S E-Hybrid

The design changes include a full-width LED light strip at the back, the SportDesign appearance, new 20- and 21-inch wheel patterns, bigger air intakes for the Turbo S, and two new shades – Truffle Brown Metallic and Cherry Red Metallic.

The 2021 Porsche Panamera will come equipped with lane keep assist and traffic sign recognition to boost safety. For other driver assistance systems like head-up display, night vision, adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, etc, customers have to pay more.

The company will open its order books at the start of next year and deliver the finished product by spring. The pricing details will be revealed closer to the launch. For reference, the 2020 model starts at around AED 422,100.
