2021 Volkswagen Golf Variant, Alltrack Break Cover Offering More Interior Space

The 2021 Volkswagen Golf Variant and Alltrack make debut offering more space for passengers as well as for the cargo. The eighth-generation Golf Variant now has a 105.75-inch (2.68-meter) wheelbase, which is 2.6 inches more between the wheels than the previous model. It will obviously offer more legroom (around 1.5 inches extra). The boot space is marginally increased to 21.58 cubic feet (611 liters) against the 21.37 cubic feet (605 liters) of the seventh-generation model. The hand-free gate is optional.

The powertrains remain the same as available for the standard Golf. However, different markets will receive different mills. For Europe, customers can pick from various turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines generating output in the range of 110 and 150 horsepower. The hybrid options may not be available at the start, but of course, will be added later on.

The 2021 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack comes equipped with 4Motion all-wheel drive and better ground clearance. The styling is suited to outdoor enthusiasts with plastic cladding at the lower part of the vehicle. The Alltrack will be able to tow up to 4,400 pounds (2,000 kilograms).

The 2021 Volkswagen Golf Variant and Alltrack will hit the European roads before the end of this year. The market launch for the Middle East is expected at the start of next year. Pricing details are not revealed yet.
