Nissan is still playing with the R35-generation GT-R although it is traveling toward its demise. The latest in this regard is the introduction of the 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO Special Edition, which will be accessible only in limited numbers.
The power comes from the familiar twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6, having the same turbochargers employed on Nissan’s GT-R GT3-class race car. The mill generates 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque. The power goes to all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO Special Edition looks different from its track-focused sibling due to a more assertive aero kit with a bigger rear wing and red trim. It sports a unique Stealth Gray paint with a visible carbon-fiber hood, and a pair of 20-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels with a red rim.
It will be the first GT-R to have NISMO logo on the trunk and center caps. The coupe also gets an exclusive plaque with red script on the powerplant.
The automaker did not tell how much the 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO Special Edition will cost. However, it will definitely be costlier than the standard NISMO’s $212,535 starting price.
