After seeing countless spy images of the new 2023 Mercedes A-Class, we are not witnessing the production version. Available in hatchback and sedan, the new A-Class comes with a slightly altered headlight design and grille on the front and the latest diffuser, along with LED headlights at the back.

You can choose from four up-to-date wheel options (up to 19 inches), containing an AMG Line wheel finished in glossy black with multi-spoke design. The exterior paint finishes are also accessible in matte and metallic.

The interior updates include a new steering wheel with Nappa leather and an updated design of the centre console. The infotainment duty is entrusted to the MBUX with a seven-inch display that you can upgrade to 10.25-inch.

The powertrain gets a mild-hybrid touch sending power to the wheels via seven- or eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions. Thanks to the 48V hybrid tech, the new A-Class generates 13 more horsepower. The PHEV variant also creates 7 hp more to produce a combined 107 hp (80 kW). The battery can be charged on either AC at up 11 kW or DC at up to 22 kW, demanding less than 30 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 per cent.

The high-performance AMG models will also be available for guys seeking extra oomph in the shape of A35 and A45 S. The lesser model comes in hatchback and sedan body styles, while the range-topper is a five-door-only car.

The AMG A35 is powered by a mild hybrid system yielding 302 hp (225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque and now mates to an eight-speed DCT instead of the previously standard seven-speed transmission.

The AMG A45 S gets a Street Style model with lots of visual changes and new Mountain Grey Magno paint. Other features that make it stand apart from others in the range include an aero kit, 19-inch matte black wheels, red brake calipers, old-fashioned body decals, and orange accents.

The AMG A45 S still uses the M139 engine churning out 416 hp (310 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). However, it is not the more robust mill for a production car anymore, as this delivers 470 hp (350 kW) and 545 Nm (402 lb-ft) in the AMG C63. That being, the engine is still very powerful, offering 0 to 62 mph acceleration in only 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h).
