The Audi A6 L has hit the stage 2018 Guangzhou auto show maintaining the styling elements of the standard A6. The car is made in China with the help of Audi’s partner FAW Volkswagen.

The ‘L’ stands here for the length, which is 3.9 inches more than the standard A6. The 119-inch wheelbase now provides rear occupants more space and comfort.

Talking about the powertrain, we learned from Motor1 that the stretched model will carry a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 pumping out two outputs i.e. 190 hp and 224 hp. Audi also plans to introduce the A6 L e-Tron plug-in hybrid in the future.

The U.S. market may get different powertrains. Presently, the A6 comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 assisted by a mild-hybrid system. The whole unit delivers 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. We also expect an A6 e-Tron plug-in hybrid as well as an S6 for the U.S. markets. The standard A6 here in the UAE is offered in multiple powertrains.

The Audi A6 L will be exclusively sold in China thanks to the Chinese buyers who prefer ample room in the backseats for their comfort on daily commutes. Most Chinese still prefer being chauffeured to avoid the hassle of driving and congestion on the roads. Audi also develops A4 L, Q2 L and Q5 L for China only.
