Ferrari F8 Spider Officially Unveiled In Miami

Following its online reveal, the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer presented the new Ferrari F8 Spider with its bones and flesh recently at Art Basel in Miami. The Art Basel fair exhibits the best of the art every year in December, and Ferrari believed there won’t be any other suitable place to depict its artistic creation. The event was attended by a few select potential customers invited by Ferrari USA.

Replacing the 488 Spider, the Ferrari F8 Spider is a step ahead of its predecessor. The driver can deploy or retract the folding metal roof in 14 seconds and it weighs 44 pounds lower compared to the previous Spider. The automaker lists its dry weight at 3,086 pounds. Comparing it to its Coupe sibling, the F8 Tributo Coupe (available in the UAE), it is 154 pounds heavier due to its roof.

The power comes from the same famous 3.9 liters V8 Biturbo, pumping energy in the F8 Tributo. The engine creates 711 horsepower and 568 foot-pounds of torque, which is 50 hp and 7 lb-feet extra than the 488 Spider. Surprisingly, the performance figures for both the coupe and the convertible are almost the same (the only difference lies in the speed from 100 to 200 kph).

The new Ferrari F8 Spider can hit 100 km/h speed in only 2.9 seconds and reach 200 km/h in 8.2 seconds. The top speed is limited to 322 km/h.

Ferrari didn’t reveal the price of the F8 Spider, but evidently, it will be more expensive than the Tributo, which costs around €236,000 in Italy. We also believe it will be more expensive than the 488 Spider, which came with a price tag of around $280,900.
