The British motorsport engineering firm, JRM Group has introduced a road-legal JRM GT23 based on Nissan GT-R Nismo. The company has been building GT-R racecars for around a decade for Nissan and would use all its experience to create the GT23.
Elliot Dason-Barber, JRM’s technical director stated they have used “Every system the team has put on it has a racing pedigree.”
JRM tweaked the GT-R’s 3.8L twin-turbocharged V6 engine, so it could deliver 650 horsepower. They also switch the basic dual-clutch transmission with a potent 6-speed sequential shifter. Similarly, the maker replaced the rear-wheel-drive setup with the all-wheel-drive system. All the additions and changes allow the JRM GT23 to gain 2,810 pounds of weight, which is lower than the standard GT-Rs.
To make it quicker on the road, the automaker has also improved its downforce using an aerodynamic package. The changes include a big duct in the hood and a fancy wing on the back offering exceptional cornering prowess.
The weight reduction also comes in the wake of some interior changes. A roll cage and bucket seat is there, while the typical instrument cluster is swapped by a race-design interface. JRM is giving the customers all the power to customize the interior of the GT23 as per their likings.
As the name suggests, the company is only building 23 GT-Rs and the development would start at JRM’s headquarters in Daventry, United Kingdom. The production version will hit the road sometime next year wearing a price tag of £380,000 (around $501,200).
