The longtime tuner of Jaguar cars ‘Lister’ has unveiled its latest production, the Lister Thunder which came a long time after the release of Storm (the 1990s). The Thunder is a tuned, enhanced version of the Jaguar F-type.

Staying true to its name the Thunder, powered by a Jaguar engine, churns out 666 horsepower catapulting the car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and 0-100 mph in 6.8 seconds. This makes the Lister Thunder the company’s fastest car ever. The supercar utilizes its 5.0-liter V8 engine’s immense power to reach a top speed of 208 mph. The Thunder easily overpowers the quickest Jaguar F-type in the market, the SVR, which is capable of going from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. That is a good 0.5 seconds slower than Lister’s Thunder.

Allowing diversity in the interior, customers will be able to choose from 36 different colors of Weir Nappa leather. Matching leather will also be stitched on to the steering wheel, dashboard, doors and roof lining. The exterior will be highlighted by Lister’s green paint, carbon fiber body panels, and Lister badges. A carbon fiber kit will also be available for customers at $28,293.

CEO Lawrence Whittaker hopes to become the unofficial tuner for Jaguar, just like Alpina is for BMW and AMG was for Mercedes-Benz.

“Like Brabus and AMG with Mercedes and Alpina with BMW, we are hoping to become synonymous once again with tuning Jaguar vehicles, giving customers new enhanced, bespoke performance and design alternatives to Jaguar’s acclaimed model program,” Lawrence Whittaker remarked. “Although we are not directly affiliated with Jaguar Land Rover, Lister has a Jaguar tuning heritage dating back 65 years.”

Only 99 Lister Thunders will be made, starting at a price of $198,250. More on the car will be revealed after its debut at the 2018 Historic Motorsport International on February 15.
