Trading Enterprises – a subsidiary of Al-Futtaim Automotive and Volvo’s official dealer in the Emirates, introduced the new Volvo S60 Sports sedan in the country. The state-of-the-art design and high-class safety features make it stand out in the competition. Although it has many distinctive features, it has also made history being the first Volvo car that is created in the United States.

Underpinning the new Volvo S60 Sports sedan is Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture platform. The most prominent features on the outside include classic Volvo design elements such as the T-shaped ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED headlight design and unique waterfall grille with Volvo Iron Mark.

While introducing the premium sedan, Oscar Rivoli, Managing Director of Trading Enterprises, stated, “The new S60 is one of the most exciting Volvo cars around. It is a true driver’s car that brings acclaimed technology from the 90 Series and 60 Series into this segment, making it one of the best sports sedans in the market.”

The base S60 T4 carries a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine generating 187bhp and 300Nm of torque. The same engine in T5 is tuned to offer higher output, i.e. 250bhp and 350Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

As we are all aware, Volvo Cars are known for their innovations, especially in the safety department. The new Volvo S60 is no different; it comes equipped with the City Safe technology. It is the industry-first in this segment as it can identify all; pedestrians, cyclists, and big animals. The system can also apply brakes automatically to avoid a collision. The Off-Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation, and other steering assistance systems make it a highly safe car to drive.

The optional Pilot Assist system is capable of handling steering, acceleration, and braking on select roads with clear markings. The Cross Traffic Alert with auto brake is also optional.

The interior is revolutionary thanks to the Volvo Cars’ Sensus Connect infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 4G. The driver can manage most of the functions through a tablet-style touch screen interface.

The new Volvo S60 Sports sedan is accessible at Trading Enterprises’ showrooms throughout the UAE wearing a price tag of AED 159,900 for the T4 variant.
