Next-Generation BMW X4 Likely To Arrive Later this Year

The upcoming next-generation BMW X4 will probably arrive soon, as the spy photographers have caught it parked on a trailer along with other BMW and MINI models. Surprisingly, the new BMW X4 is not wearing a lot of camouflage, which gives us a pretty good idea about the SUV.

The next-generation BMW X4 will be based on the new X3 model, which is why both the models were similarly camouflaged. The BMW X3 was also caught a few days back test driving at Nürburgring. Both the new BMW X4 and X3 will share powertrains and will be comparatively lighter than the current models.

Rumors also suggest that BMW is planning to introduce an X3 M model which will be powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder engine developing 500 horsepower, and thus the X4 might also feature the same engine. A plug-in hybrid variant of both X4 and X3 will also join the lineup.

Reports indicate the next-generation BMW X4 and the X3 will be officially unveiled later this year at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Once launched, the BMW X4 will compete with the likes of Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and the Mercedes-AMG GLC63. Expect the X4 to arrive in the UAE shortly after its launch in the international market.
