The Second “Last Call” Model, Dodge Charger Super Bee Debuts

After the Challenger Shakedown Special Edition model, Dodge has introduced the second of seven Last Call models. Welcome the Charger Super Bee marking the end of petrol-powered, muscle machines.

Dodge used the Super Bee labelling for the Charger in 2014, but this iteration has some distinctions. It would come with the most exhilarating performance we have ever witnessed in a Super Bee. Dodge has borrowed the V8 from the Charger Scat Pack and fitted regular street-legal drag tires to have some fun on a track.

If you are trying to recall, the Scat Pack is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.4-litre Hemi pumping out 485 horsepower (362 kilowatts). The power travels to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. This Last Call special edition model is based on the 2023 Charger Scat Pack trim levels.

The Super Bee has the same engine as is available in the Scat Pack but sports new drag tries (as mentioned earlier) in different sizes. The base Scat Pack Super Bee will use 275s on 20-inch wheels.

On the other hand, the Scat Pack Widebody will feature smaller 18-inch wheels but broader 315 tires. Of course, to have fun at a strip, you need a drag mode, and the adaptive suspension is tuned to offer it. Furthermore, going with the old muscle car design, Dodge fixed an SRT hood with functional scoops and hood pins. The wheels get the stopping power from the red Brembo brakes.

Indeed, the 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee will have its own graphics and emblems for distinction. We can see a Super Bee symbol in the grille and Bee marks on the front fenders. If you still can’t distinguish this special edition, Dodge has added special graphics on the hood and stripes on the rear doors and quarter panels. The graphics at the quarter panel mentions ‘Super Bee.’ On the inside, we find the Super Bee emblems in various places, such as on the seat backs.

Similar to what we have seen with the Challenger Shakedown Special Edition, the Super Bee will be limited to only 1000 units. Half of these will be Scat Pack trims boasting B5 Blue paint, and the remaining half will be Scat Pack Widebody models with Plum Crazy paint. We will know about the pricing of Super Bee when Dodge opens its order books.

Moving forward, the America muscle carmaker will introduce a new Last Call Charger or Challenger model every Wednesday until we have six models in the Last Call series. The seventh and the last member of the Last Call will debut at the 2022 SEMA show.
