The Japanese automaker has confirmed that the Toyota FJ Cruiser will cease by August this year, as the production of the two-door SUV will be stopped.
The Toyota FJ Cruiser was introduced at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show. It was built on Land Cruiser Prado chassis. It was replaced by the Toyota 4Runner in the US markets after being discontinued in 2014. However, the FJ Cruiser was still being manufactured and sold in markets including Middle East, China, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, but now these regions are also going to bid farewell to the retro-styled SUV.
The FJ Cruiser carries a 1GR-FE 4.0-litre V6 engine mated to either a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission system and produces up to 268 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. Toyota has not yet announced about the replacement of FJ Cruiser yet.
