The Volkswagen T-Roc is scheduled to debut on August 23rd. Recently, the automaker released a teaser video giving us a hint how the production model will look like. Previously, we saw it without camouflage too.

The Volkswagen T-Roc compact crossover was initially displayed in concept form back in 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show. Afterward, it was caught testing a couple of times. The recent teaser images and videos confirm that the design of the production model will closely resemble the concept.

Up front, the VW T-Roc will boast a wide radiator grille along with dual headlights and daytime running lights. It will ride on the same platform as the Volkswagen Golf, and will be smaller in size than the VW Tiguan.

Reports indicate it will be available in a number of powertrain options including a 1.0L and a 1.5L four-cylinder. A 2.0L turbocharged engine is also a possibility, while the transmission will most likely be six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG. The VW T-Roc will hit the European markets first and will arrive in the United States later. It will compete against the likes of the Honda HR-V and the Mazda CX-3.

More details regarding the compact crossover’s performance specs and interior elements will be disclosed on August 23rd.
